Document Summary

Myth in ancient greece: texts and theories: from 500-400 bc, they put a lot of plays between the 100 years (approx 900 plays) There are two different big kinds of plays: tragedies and comedies: there"s also a type of play called a satyr play. You can only see plays during the festival season - occurring in 4 days. On day 1, you"d have 3 tragedies, and 1 satyr play by a certain author. (playwright a) On day 2, you"d have playwright b doing the same thing. On day 3, you"d have playwright c doing the same thing. On day 4, you"d have comedies by 3 different writers. The 500-400 b. c period is what we think of ancient greece. At the end of this is the persian. If there were 9 plays per year for 100 years, there are going to be 900 plays total: every town that has a reasonable population has had plays.
