Simoniacs sell god"s gift, valesians castrate their guests and promote them not only to priesthood but even to the episcopate, and the arians rebaptize people whom have already received baptism. These are just some of the many different heresies. Humbert claims that patriarch michael was falsely called patriarch and unfortunately his followers are following so many heresies as a result of this. Upon reading these excerpts and examining both the charges and countercharges i believe that they appear to be serious enough to cause an irreparable rift. Initially he states that the lord himself is calling upon their service, and mainly he claims that anyone who dies on the way whether by land, sea, or in battle shall have immediate remission of sins.
