The nations united - a reaction to world wars and formed after ww2. When the un was formed, it was formed with the idea that they want to keep peace in the world. Limited membership, all working towards reducing authoritarian/communist regimes (26 nations to begin with) Made up of select body of nations. Nations that are not included are not included due to political reasons, tensions in terms of democracy, or not known as a political nation. Nations that decolonized after the second world war: india, south asia, south africa and. 1966 un convention civil rights saw a changing politics of human rights. 1979 year of the child - they focused on what children needed all around the world. Plus - they required more rights due to their vulnerability due to age, status and other intersections of identity. Uncrc - created in reaction to the government that children need their own rights.
