He discovered 4 elements in us (blood) which are fire, air, water, and earth. Each element was related to the four seasons and to the four humours. Each element produces a humour (blood, phlegm, yellow, and black bile) was related to a particular temperament (jolly, slow, depressed, unpleasant): there were very limited therapies and diagnostic tools.
