KINE 2011 Lecture Notes - Lecture 31: Sarcomere, Troponin, Myelin
Document Summary
Back to slide 22 and 23 t-tubule part of the plasma membrane that is inside the cell in between the myofibril. And this pink structure is closely related to this green structure called the lateral sac of the sarcoplasmic reticulum. A sarcoplasmic reticulum is a reservoir of calcium and you need to open this reservoir to release calcium into the cytoplasm so it can detect where you have troponin and interact with the calcium subunit of the troponin. The way to regulate it i through two types of receptors. On this t-tubule i have this specific voltage sensors that are activated by the action potential. This dihydropyridine receptor is itself associating with this yellow receptor at the level of the sarcoplasmic reticulum and this receptor is also a channel its called ryanodine receptor which is a channel for the calcium. So the dihydropyridine receptor and the ryanodine receptor are interacting with each other.
