Lecture 13, repeated measures t tests & correlations. This equation is used to see if there are di erences between di erent samples. Like the independent samples of di erent groups: the null hypothesis says that t should be 0, and that there is no di erence between groups. How big does t have to be before we can con dently reject the null hypothesis. Repeated measures t-test: the formula for repeated measures is di erent than independent samples. Those two new columns at the end are just the di erence between condition 2 and condition 1, since that is the point of repeated measures. You want to nd out whether your intervention on the group made a di erence. The last column is just squaring your di erences. In correlations you"re looking to see whether variables are related in anyway. March 5th: the purpose is to measure the linear relationships between two variables.
