Most mental health problems start during adolescence or childhood. Women are more likely to get diagnosed with mental illnesses and men are more likely to abuse substances. Everybody has anxiety sometimes: having an anxiety disorder means you have trait anxiety which is just being anxious most of the time for little reason. It is sometimes not the most accurate because people don"t recognize that they are anxious. Physiological measures: measuring heart rate, muscle tension, skin responses, blood pressure. Assessing depression: beck depression inventory - 21 items: it is 21 questions that capture things like sadness, or appetite, and other factors that can be used to re ect depression. Primary prevention: this is the prevention of the disease in healthy people (those without anxiety or depression) Secondary prevention: this is the treatment of people who already have been diagnosed with anxiety and depression. We are looking at how we can use exercise to cure their problems.
