We go into more selective component of nephron. Loop of henle, generates a unique interstitial environment. Basically condition surrounding area and set stage for final part of nephron (collecting duct). They create the ideal solution for your body in terms of how much fluid show be excreted and rid of or brought back into your body. Amount of urine your body produces changes over the course of the day and changes depending on what you do, consume, and environmental considerations. Unique feature within kidney exists in terms of osmotic gradient. The outer 1/3 of kidney has normal tissue osmolarity. Sample if from cortical region and its 300 mosm (normal body fluid osmolarity). Pick different locations, the deeper, the higher the osmolarity. 1200 mosm, other species have other capabilities, relates to henle creating this osmotic gradient. Anatomical arrangement is key in letting it do what it does. Descending limb is continuation from proximal tubule then ascending for distal.
