Document Summary
Change in location: to measure how far a skater travels for example, measure their tracks on the ice. This is a scale, without any particular direction: if you just want to see how far they went, measure their location from point a to point b. Start to nish path distance is the vector, and it has a direction. If your start & nish point is the same, then your displacement is 0. Your distance however will be however far you traveled. In both cases, the time is the same. Speed = distance travelled / change in time. Velocity (v)= change in position/ change in time. Velocity = displacement / change in time which is d/change in t. unit is m/s. Velocity is a vector, while speed is a scaler. She added the velocity of the swimmer and the velocity of the current to get the resulting velocity. Acceleration: the rate of change in linear velocity.
