Factors effecting high status of elders ( things that lower elders role today) Women used to cook as sense of identity, now cooking tradtions of changed due to take-out culture. Men used to work in the farm, now they have no role. Differs between people, (ie one elderly could look young for their age while another is old for their age) Their level of activity and stamina differs even if they are the same age. If you seen one 80 yrd then u have only seen one (since they all differ chronologically) Some who are the same age can be healthy and active and others can be weak and fatigue. Biological aging determines one"s ability to do their adl. Due to resources biological failures are fixable (eg. hip replacements) People"s expectation and thoughts towards the elderly. Are they mentally stable for their age. Are they active secdule wise or are they sitting at home all day.
