Personality profiles of athletes dffering in skill lvl: as they move up the athletic pyramid, become more homogenous: mood state and athletic performance: Mood state: situation specific, somewhat transient, psyc response to an enviro mental stimulus: measuring mood state: Profile of mood states: elite athlets exhibited an iceberg profile that was lower in negative moods (tension, depression, anger,fatigue, confusion) and higher in vigor compared to the norm. Mental health model: elite athletes exhibited a more mentally health mood profile than less successful athletes.
