Homelessness: issue that addressed locally by provincial government. Four examples of responses to difference: there is so much overlap between these definition: cultural sensitivity. Sport example: cultural awareness, cultural competency, cultural safety: is an outlier for brown article. Brown tend to reject the ideas of culture sensitivity, competency and awareness in general, he is focusing on the interaction and being sensitive to that individual needs in that specific moment of interaction. Strengths of cultural safety : allow you to critique 2 process: Culturalism: reduce someone identity entirely to one culture. Culture here is defined in very narrow way as: shared belief, practices and values. This definition is conflated with ethnicity that if you have the same ethnic group so you have the same culture and practice. Ex1: someone might identify the proof as japanese while she identify herself as. Ex2: believe about poor/ good health in different cultures. Saying that all arab believe in this practice.
