Anorexia throughout the ages: women self starved when they sinned, women tried to starve themselves out of arranged marriages and child birth. Cardinal symptoms of anorexia nervosa: hyper-activity, going to gym excessively (modern), restlessness, pacing, self starvation. Starving as (cid:494)self-medication(cid:495: one"s choice to use a particular substance or behaviour is based, to some degree, on its effect on painful or unpleasant emotional states. Activity-based anorexia: no wheel or wheel, food or no food, when the mice have no food and a wheel they will run themselves to death, as the body weight went down, the wheel rotations go up. In 3 of the conditions the mice stayed in nrg balance: this seems to be programed. Exercise and anorexia: l, most people start losing a loot of weight and then plateau. Identifying novel phenotypes of vulnerability and resistance to activity based anorexia in adolescent female rats: how many days it took the rats to lose 25% body weight.
