Discourse - authenticity and the opposite, boy band compared to folk music, sensory, fan. Culture, gender, race, religion, value of pop music, music writing, looking at to past (that never existed?) Business - issues of ownership, song stealing, sampling in hip hop, american media interest and affect on world, music in youth market. What is pop music? (culture) - a cultural text controlled by its mediation. Ballet, cultivated arts for the upper classes, classical music (e. g. mozart makes you smarter), the way anthropligist would approach cultures. Cultural text - a text can be a painting movie language, anything.
