Earth there is a period of light, and a period of dark: earth has 1 moon, moon is very large, and due to moon"s gravity, is causes tides (also sun, moon provides protection from asteroid impacts. Jupiter exerts sufficient gravitation force to deflect incoming comets and asteroids. This is 55% of radius of earth (~6500km: mantel, lower and upper mantle, made of various silicates (rock) and is molten. It can flow (not really a liquid, more like putty), there are actually convection currents in the mantle: convection hot material rises, cools and sinks back down causing circular flow. Whether an area was once deep underground: 3 different types of rock. Both the atmosphere and the hydrosphere are fluids, so they can flow. It is from this motion that we see the weather produced. The motions in the atmosphere and oceans result from two main processes. In the atmosphere warm air can evaporate water and rise with it to higher altitudes.
