NATS 1650 Lecture Notes - Lecture 1: Drug Resistance, Tuberculosis, Microorganism
Document Summary
Microbes don"t want to kill us; they prefer that we stay healthy. One of the reasons is microbes are using us as our host, in order to keep the host in a comfortable environment for them to live in. Student would likely be kicked out of school; as he compromised the building. The dorm manager is the person; whereas the student that lived in the room are microbes. Microbial diseases are often severe (small pox, ebola). However, large majority of microbes do not cause aggressive diseases, which can kill their host quickly. That"s why microbes try to keep their host healthy. 2 examples of severe diseases: tuberculosis vs. ebola virus- tuberculosis is a disease that is a seldom bacteria that infects the body and can stay up to 30 years in the body before the bacteria will kill the host.
