Digestive system: supplies blood with nutrients and water for tissue cells. Consumption of food leads to increased glucose in bloodstream. Cells take up glucose level of glucose in the bloodstream falls. Glucose taken up by the liver is stored as glycogen. When blood is low in glucose, glycogen can be broken down.
