Evidence for evolution: the hypothesis of common descent is supported by many lines of evidence: the more varied the evidence the more certain it becomes. Most fossils are mineralized in sedimentary rocks become rock: bodies of dead organisms settle with sediments, most parts decay some parts are preserved as fossils. Hard parts that are rich in materials shells, bones, teeth. Organic material also can turn into stone under right conditions. Orderly appearance of fossils within strata sedimentary rocks: when assembled in chronological sequence illustrates the evolutionary change over the past four billion years. Non-decomposed fossils form when an organism dies someplace where it can"t decay.
