I then die, leaving no record of the thing i have created. Can it be said that what i created is merely a tool or is it technology? i think it is both, since i maintain that there is no practical difference between a tool and technology. The final form of the implemented idea is the tool which is technology. Exactly how the pyramids were built. i think it"d be absurd to suggest that the absence of a written record of the technology used to build the pyramids would relegate egyptian technology to something less such as a tool. Once again consider two somewhat more recent examples.
