Increased use of instruments in scientific experimentation/practice (move to practical use of science, shift away from aristotle who rejected experimenting with nature) Social spaces becoming more popular (different disciplines coming together, share and exchange ideas) Hybrid human, someone with an interest in both science and technology (a renaissance man) Engineers sponsored to city build, military technology, create technology to show off to other royal families. Spent most of career as an engineer, main source of income. Early life: an apprentice to andrea del verrocchio, sculptor and painter.
