Egyptian optics: most early civilizations worshipped a sun god in some form, but around 1370 bc. Pharaoh akhenaton of egypt introduced worship of a modified version of such a divinity that included the rays of sunlight. Intromission something entering our eyes to produce visual sensation: extramission something left the eye to produce visual sensation, plato (427-347 bc) was a huge supporter of the extramission theory of vision. Body meaning anything owing its visibility to the colour of something else; of this character are air, water, and many solid bodies. He considered then transparent due to them containing a substance also found in the eternal body. He thought that light was the presence of fire or something resembling fire in what is transparent, transmitting into the eye as colour. Colour was transmitted thought the transparent medium, the body would then impress its colour upon the medium touching its surface passing layers to getting to the eye.
