Democracy, in theory at least, encourages the greatest redistribution of power and the greatest amount of change. Basically telling other countries democracy is the best form of government. Politics is the process of who gets what, where, when, how. We are all social beings (no one person is an island) We are united by the arrangements we make with each other to surrender some of our desires, for some of our needs. We need guiding authority, traditions, and rituals to (cid:271)e (cid:271)ased on (cid:272)onsensus (cid:894)(cid:449)e don"t (cid:449)ant a (cid:862)ra(cid:449) state of nature(cid:863)(cid:895) Its effectiveness depends on our ability to obtain a satisfactory balance between what we want and what we are prepared to give up. People believe that they are surrendering too much or not getting enough in return.
