Ideologies will ll a gap in modern society. Ideologies risks and dangers: can lull the mind, you can be so convinced by your own ideologies that we can become intellectually lazy; if you seriously believe in democratic life, you have to have active, engaged citizens. Dogmatism is the greatest enemy of intelligence. They present themselves by being the ultimate truth, us wanting to impose that truth on others can lead to totalitarianism, terror. Certain regimes have a rugged that their ideologies are the truth and they push their ideas upon us, to eliminate everyone that doesn"t think like you (eg. marxism, nazism) Liberalism - the rst ideology of modernity, opens way to all ideological thinking; thanks to liberalism, socialism and conservatism can be present. If we were to de ne liberalism, we can say that it puts the rational individual property owner at the centre of the world.
