Politics lecture week v: assembly building which all of citizens may vote on bills, ostracism, graphe para nomon, council boule, council will prepare the sessions of the assembly. Draft the bills that are to be presented and voted upon. Council was made up of 500 members, whom drawn by lot. They would sit on council for one year. Membership could be renewed not more then twice, but mandates could not be back to back. Had to be at least thirty years old. Not all 500 members would sit at once. Each tribal group would exercise power for thirty-six days. For each sitting of the council, tribes would randomly select a president. After the 36th day, the next kleisthenian tribe would take office: lottery system at the heart of how they enter into democratic life. To choose by lot, allows the (cid:862)gods(cid:863) to de(cid:272)ide.
