Bonapartism: a strong leader will take over to create a drift to the left. The whole purpose is to lead through the military. Very organized version of social peace, dictatorship. Military claims to care about the people, they do as long as the obey. They care about the land of aristocracy. They care about an economy that can export resources. Bonapartism is the military calling out the bourgeoisie. When you adopt this model of development you have to lower your tariffs. All of the gains of the era are beaten back. Bonapartism is a deception, a con game. The military tells the bourgeoisie that the communists are coming for them and that they are going to take everything from them. This is the same pattern in most countries. Chile: exemplifies the archetype of the ba regime, didn"t industrialize as much in the industrialization era, doesn"t have strong bourgeoisie, resource-export economy.
