Of the sample questions below, three from each section will be on the test. You will be responsible for answering one (1) question from each section. Each answer must be in essay form: it must a clear argument that directly and specifically engages the question, and uses evidence from course material (readings and lectures) to back up your claims. Each section is worth 50% of the overall test grade. Note: you are permitted to bring two (2) pages (single-sided) of handwritten notes to the examination with you. Please note that each student must bring their own notes multiple copies of the same set of notes are not permitted and will count as cheating. You sign your notes and submit them with your completed examination.
