Her life was considered very scandalous; child out of wedlock. At age of 15, did not want to get married. Many poor women who were on the margins of society and forced the revolution, and also sympathetic aristocratic women who were also much involved. Agrees with idea to be virtuous citizen of republic you must be free and independent.
