In the first phase russia was less involved in the middle east. During and the end of the war they moved to eastern europe and the whole eastern europe came under the control of soviets and the communists parties there came into power. At the same time communist movement was expanding all around the world, iran, iraq, syria, lebanon, palestine, jews and arabs. During the second world war reza shah of iran who was against the british signed with the germans in the war. So they decided to remove reza shah and invaded iran. Russians did not leave and established two new governments one in iran azerbaijan and one in kurdistan.
