Constitution encompasses foundational rules governing the affairs of the state. Constitution must contain procedures and substantive protections by which most of the political societies other procedures and substantive ends are curbed and channeled. Constitutionalism which can be defined as a set of ideas and doctrines that describe and support a constitution that includes a system of effective restrains on political power. A- constitution in the modern sense is a set of legal norms not a philosophical construct. B-the objective of these legal norms is to regulate the establishment and exercise of public power. C-the regulation of exercise of public power is comprehensive (no pre-or extra constitutional bearers of public power are recognized: constitutional law is higher law. It enjoys the primacy of all other laws. E-constitutional law finds its origins with people as the only legitimate source of power. Types/ classification of constitution: this is not the only way to classify constitutions.
