Factor analysis: correlation among many variables are analyzed to identify closely related clusters of variables. The way we act is often situation dependant, behaviour will change depending on situation: unfamiliar or formal situation traits wont surface, familiar or informal situation true traits will surface (boyfriend being himself with girlfriend) A persons persist over time and are predictable. Traits can"t predict behaviour just from one given situation. Mod 21-23 behavioural perspective (behaviouristic school of study) It is interested in observable behaviour and it looks at antecedents and consequences.
