Major function : lobe: each lob has different function, parietal, frontal, temporal, occipital lobe vision* 2 halves: each half has a different specialty/function. Connected by tissues corpuscallosum : left hemisphere: processing of language (speak, write, read, understanding) Dominant hemisphere: controls the right hand (opposite) side of the body, mathematical/science/language abilities, right hemisphere, controls the left hand (opposite) side of the body, artsy abilities: music, art dance, perception. Split-brain patients: corpuscallosum cut in half: 2 hemispheres separated/disconnected and no communication occurs, unable to perform certain tasks like usual.
