Your conscious experience of that emotion: your thoughts and your feelings. Thinks facial expression is inborn: ex. blind people make facial expressions. Ex. in tibet when you are happy to see someone you stick your tongue out. Ex. cultures differ in how strongly you express emotions. Professor calls up 6 people to the front. She has 12 cards that each have a facial expression written on them. The participants then have to make that expression and people have to guess what they are. Different people express them in different wayswe tend to place emotional experience along 2 dimensions: valence- positive or negative, arousal- high or low.
