Document Summary

Psych 1010 lecture #13 human development. We have this enormous bias in human development. Development is the sequence of age-related changes that occur as a person progress from conception to death. It is an orderly, cumulative process so everything build upon themselves. Development unfolds how we are as humans and change over time. There are two themes in human development which are transitions and continuity. Transition: it is saying that if you can"t do something before, you can do it now. Continuity: the idea that we are the same person within our lives between generations. The only problem with this is that experiments are expensive and tedious. Fertilized egg is called a zygote ( a cluster of microscopic cells) The next 7 weeks, a placenta forms and that"s how the baby gets its food. 1 in 18 pregnancies never result in births. This stage is also known as. the time of great vulnerability for the future baby.
