Scientific methods is base on the empirical data which psychologist are interested in it. Different research methods: most common ones researches , every methods has it advantages and disadvantages. Survey method: consists a set of written questions to determine people"s attitudes , believes and behaviors. In order to generalize from the sample to the population the sample must be representative of population the opposite of the representative population is biased. Each person in the population had an equal chance of being chosen for the sample. By chosen randomly you will get the mini version of the population. Ex: attitude at the first week of the school at york , chose 50 people randomly from the psyc lecture. Random sampling is the way that you need to do regarding to the survey method which make your survey be more sure. Naturalistic observation : when you want to describe or masseur people behavior as they are behaving in a natural setting.
