The development of the ability to understand and speak, look at babies and toddlers cannot speak properly and there is so much work that goes into understanding language and we wonder how exactly is that they learn. We cannot understand language acquisition through leaning alone because we need to have the brains, there are units in our brains specialized for processing linguistic information. Linguistic information is not just words it is putting them together and constructing sentences and understanding the meaning and those rules are so complex like form, verb , noun and underlying meanings. Noam chomsky 40 yrs ago, big contribution to the structure of language and how learning theories cannot explain the acquisition of language, it was insufficient and there is this biological aspect that needs to be taken into consideration.
