Social motivation: how we judge others and interact with them based on those judgements. When we are first meeting someone (noval situation) Locus: extend to which the reason or cause for the negative, important, unexpected event is about the person (internal) or lies outside the person( external) Extend to which the cause can be controlled or volition (free will) Attitudes: an unfavourable or favourable evaluative judgement or response to. Attitudes: an unfavourable or favourable evaluative judgement or response to someone or something expressed in one"s beliefs, feelings or intended behaviours. Separate entity: holds that affects, behaviours and cognitions are each separate entities that may or may not be interco related. Tri componential: an attitude is a single entity that has 3 components, they are al interrelated , effective, cognitive, and behavioural components. Cognition: ideas and beliefs that a person has towards an attitude object. Behaviour: ones tendency to act towards an attitude object.
