Heredity, environment or some contribution of the two: scientiic study of personality attempts to predict control and explain individual diferences. Concept of personality: no universally agreed upon deinition, yet there are conceptions of personality: kluckhohn + murray (1953) every person is in certain respects: A person with high self monitor means they are able to adapt to given situations, their personalities luctuate to meet. Analysis of allports deinition: personality is dynamic not static (consistently changing, it is organized and structured not an accumulation of traits, it is a psychological concept within a physical entity the body, mind-body. It is a casual force that inluences thought and action.
