Biological: some people may have a genetic predisposition to develop certain kinds of disorders. Behavioural: the experiences one has gone through/had in their life affects how the predispositions are expressed learned factors also play an important role in development of motives. Cognitive: the way in which we interpret events around us misinterpretation of how people feel about her caused by low self-esteem. Motivation: concept used to describe forces acting on or within an organism to initiate and direct behaviour. Intensity of behaviour: more intense behaviours are considered to be result of higher levels of motivation: persistence of behaviour: highly motivated behaviour will often be persistent een though intensity may be low, e. g. Hungry monkey occasionally rewarded with piece of banana for pressing level on variable interval (vi) schedule will press level very persistently but at low rate of respo(cid:374)di(cid:374)g. fast respo(cid:374)di(cid:374)g does(cid:374)"t pa(cid:455) off (cid:449)hereas persiste(cid:374)(cid:272)e does.
