Often used interchangeably in the past: no clean absolute separation is possible. Sex = a person"s biological maleness or femaleness. Gender = non-physiological aspects of being female/male -- the cultural expectations for femininity and masculinity. Emphasizes how similar women and men are. We build out version of reality based on: what we have experienced before, whom we interact with, what we believe. Each of us have our own idea of reality.
