Michelangelo"s sistine chapel: painting of god + attendants = shaped like a brain. Galen: roman father of medicine; behaviour = movement of animal spirits from brain through nerves to the body. Leonardo da vinci: made illustrations of nerves and brain structures. Dualism: ren descartes; nonmaterial soul + material body and brain that the soul governed behaviour through point of contact (pineal gland possibly)
