Psyc 4030 - lecture 9: client groups often treated through bt/cbt. * the following groups benefit from bt (especially modeling) but also require more. People with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (adhd): 3 different kinds of adhd, kids who are very disorganized, not good at details, lose things, easily distracted, cannot focus for long periods of time. Disruptive behaviour disorders: 3 types, oppositional defiant disorder - kids who are hostile, not respective to authority, blame other people, not very likeable. If left untreated, becomes conduct disorder in teens: conduct disorder ignore rights of others and societal rules, assault others, ignore rules, etc. The more consistent, the better: we also need to figure out the root of it. Can be organic, but perhaps family dealing with drugs, abuse, poverty, social isolation: multi-systemic therapy is another intervention (that is very expensive). Have periodic (3-4 (cid:373)o(cid:374)th) (cid:373)eeti(cid:374)gs (cid:449)ith all the rele(cid:448)a(cid:374)t people i(cid:374) the (cid:272)hild"s life to discuss interventions.
