o What is their role in emotional recognition?
Showed him faces while in an fMRI and asked him to
imitate.
He recorded his brain while he moved his facial muscles.
Then same faces but don’t move any muscles, just look.
When they checked the results he showed the part of the
brain that lights up when he makes a face, the SAME
PART lights up when he just see’s the faces.
It helps us to tune into other peoples’ emotions,
EMPATHY.
Allows you to live in other peoples’ minds in a way.
Why when you see a movie when people are feeling
something really sad, people will feel it too and cry. You
can connect with the characters and “adopt their point of
view.”
