Ct consider thoughts the most important so address thoughts to change the way people think, feel and behave. Cognitive therapists believe that thoughts, feelings and behaviours are all interrelated (imagine a triangle with bidirectional arrows). Cbt believes that these three things are interrelated. Emotion-focused therapists also believe thoughts, feelings and behaviours are all interrelated. working with emotions in more productive ways. We spend a lot of time reacting and not enough time thinking. A cognitive therapist tries to get the client to slow down and consider their thinking and what their thoughts are trying to tell them. Thoughts are usually a full sentence or phrase and feelings are usually a single word. Ct works with core beliefs and are responsible for how we feel in our lives.
