Human nature: unit of analysis, origin of. Ideology: an ideology is a fairly coherent and comprehensive set of ideas that explains and evaluates social conditions, helps people understand their place in society, and provides a program for social and political action. It also explains and passes judgement on historical events. It also identifies political rights and political wrongs. It also maps out the inner connections between politics and other spheres of human activities. In short, it acts a guide to how we should behave. It makes sense of the world around us, and it provides us with a lens of glasses, that bombards us with information. Counter ideology: every now and then, it becomes a new dominant ideology: classical conservatism, classical liberalism, classical socialism.
