Many believe that masculinity and feminity are essences that all people possess: feminity: lactate and gestate. Transgender umbrella term for people whose gender idenity difers from what is typically associated with the sex they were assigned at birth. Most religions have had something to say about sexual, procreaive "nature" sacred male/female prositutes. North american aboriginal: transgender or two-spirited shamans or healers who possessed spiritual qualiies. China: sex form of worship that led to immortality. Sociology of sex sociologists understand sexuality as connected to cultural, poliical, legal, moral and ethical phenomena. Kingsley davis: prosituion served to keep nuclear families together and strong, men"s sexual appeites were saisied through prosituion as opposed to seeking graiicaion with other married women. Robert park: sexuality is only dictated by biological composiion, sexual scripts which are road maps of sexual acivity. 1960"s considered important because it was marked by signiicant shits in aitudes about sexuality and reproducion baby boom came back from the war.
