We have to understand the self as a actor (no authentic self-outside of performance) When we think of the idea of just actors as something artificial or fake. There is a real self then there is role the actor is playing in a movie. He believes there is no authentic self-outside of performance. It is what we do it is not fake it"s who we are. Where playing the same role towards others we are just acting.
