Was mentioned in the reading of j. k. campbell. Man has most of the honour and if they don"t sustain it they will be kicked out of the society. Honour is a condition of integrity of being untouched by this kind of attack, insult or betrayal. The honourable men - manliness, courageous and fearless, bondless self confidence. Significance: it is significant to know the meaning of honour in the traditional society because it was very important socially. Without honour you would be excluded from the society and humiliated: moral economy of the crowd (p. 131) Thompson begins to address the moral economy stating that it incorporated more traditional values, in that it believed the proper economy is faced on goodness fairness and justice. Limited government involvement, and a more morally restricted economy. Everyone has to contribute to the society together and built it. Food riots- food was considered a right, not a commodity.
