From time to time the vision of a real hero changes as do people. The best way to define it is to compare two different types of ancient heroes. When thinking about first heroic people we obviously take into consideration two large and powerful civilizations: greek and chinese. The ancient concept of hero" was very different from what we understand by the term today. In ancient greece a hero was a human, half mortal half god, who had some special abilities but used them just for his own honor. Only after his death these deeds could belong to the community. He was supposed to have noble character and to perform extraordinary feats. Their main characteristics included courage, pride, honor, justice, magnificence. Greek heroes were outlined in the homeric iliad andodyssey as the objects of cult worship. They usually suffered physically during all their life and died in unusual way. Otherwise the heroes were determined in the ancient china.
