In ancient greece a hero was man, half mortal half god, who had some special abilities but used them just for his own honor. Only after his death these deeds could belong to the community. He was supposed to have noble character and to perform extraordinary feats. Their main characteristics included courage, pride, honor, justice, magnificence.
