Is shaped by views and assumptions from people around us (unconsciously) (i. e. learned through observation and interactions such as advertising, and social events) How we ought to interact and behave with each other. Gives us identity, sense of security and acceptance through body language. Structure and security/ confidence that he have an idea of what is expected of us. Examples of dominant ideologies: liberalism, liberal individualism/ being autonomous, equality, nationalism, superiority sense of national identity, sexism, ex. justifying the devaluation of work, racism, religion/ religious belief systems. To become more aware and deliberate about how we view our world and how it is shaped. Can make us more open minded and work towards inclusivity. Be better thinkers and challenge pre-existing ideologies.
